She thought they were gone. But, the "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" star has found those private pictures splashed across the Internet for the world to see in the biggest celebrity hacking scandals ever. Winstead's iCloud account, which is the service used to back up data from an iPhone or iPad in case the device is lost, was hacked by a hacker targeting her. In the hours after the pictures were posted online, Winstead took to Twitter and confirmed the authenticity of the images when she criticized both the hackers and individuals viewing her pictures: "To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves," the star tweeted Sunday night.  In another post, she added, "Knowing those photos were deleted long ago, I can only image the creepy effort that went into this… Feeling for everyone who got hacked."

Winstead's claim that she had long since deleted the images from her personal electronic device adds credit to the theory that the images were taken from a cloud-based back-up service rather than directly from her device. Her pictures were stolen after hackers found a security flaw in the login system of Apple's iCloud storage service. Winstead is just one of many celebrities to have been exposed. photos of Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst, Krysten Ritter, Hope Solo, Teresa Palmer, Jessica Brown Findlay, Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice and Yvonne Strahovski have allegedly been uploaded on the Internet without their permission. Nickelodeon actresses Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice have both claimed the pictures depicting them are fake. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Brown Findlay and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have inferred, through their respective representatives, that the pictures of them are legitimate.
